Over 50 years ago, Mr. Nils-Bertil Philipson - the founder of Munskänkarna – started a wine-agency called Nils-Bertil Philipson AB. The company soon became agent for several, well known French winehouses.
Simultanously, Mr. Sven Söderberg started a competitive company called Sven Söderberg Grosshandelsfirma AB that, among other things, became Swedish representative of several big spirits brands.
In 1989, managements of the two companies decided to merge, and Philipson Söderberg AB was formed.
In July 2003 the majority shareholding of P&S was sold to a nordic beverage company called Scandinavian Beverage Group, (SBG). A year later Altia Corporation, Finland, acquired Scandinavian Beverage Group.
Philipson Söderberg is today part of Altia Corporation, an international wine and spirits house operating in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
